PARIS: Ukraine's army has made modest progress in the south and Russian forces have advanced in the eastern Donbas region, but their war's front line is frozen and a month after Kyiv launched its much-heralded counteroffensive, neither side seems able to force a decisive breakthrough.
Over the past week, Ukrainian forces recaptured 9 square kilometers (4 square miles) in the east and 28 sq km in the south, Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Maliar said on Monday.
