TOKYO: Japan's plan to release treated water from the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Powe Plant into the sea meets international standards and will have a "negligible radiological impact," the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) said on Tuesday.

The assessment, delivered in a final review by the United Nations nuclear watchdog, comes as its chief visits the East Asian country before the expected water release begins this summer.
