Buyout report denied by Aboitiz, AirAsia PH

LISTED firm Aboitiz Equity Ventures (AEV) on Monday denied a newspaper report that it had taken control of AA Com Travel Philippines Inc. and purchased a 60-percent stake in AirAsia Philippines.

The report claimed that AEV President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Sabin Aboitiz and AirAsia Philippines CEO Tony Fernandes had met and that Aboitiz would be infusing capital needed 'to keep up with the competitors.'
