Filipino pole vaulter Ernest John 'EJ' Obiena qualified for the 2024 Paris Olympics after surpassing 5.82 meters during the Bauhaus-Galan at the Stockholm Olympic Stadium in Sweden early Monday, July 3 (Manila time).

Obiena aced the said Olympic entry standard height in just one attempt, as he made his second Olympic appearance and became the first Filipino athlete to qualify for the Paris Games next year.
