THE Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) last week issued advisories against three firms said to be using illegal methods of soliciting investments from the public.

The agency's Enforcement and Investor Protection Department (EIPD) identified the companies as Global Fortune Trade, Crowdfunding Pinas and Sunny Smart Asia/Sunny Smart Corp. Ltd., which were found to be selling securities without the proper licenses and registration.
