Lobo mayor, vice mayor told to answer graft complaint

The Office of the Ombudsman ordered Lobo, Batangas Mayor Lota Manalo and her husband, Vice Mayor Gaudioso Manalo, to answer the complaint filed by a corporation for alleged violation of the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act and the Anti-Red Tape law.

The anti-graft court, in an order dated June 19, 2023, directed the two officials to submit their counter-affidavit within 10 days from receipt of the order. Failure to file an answer will be deemed as waiver of their right to present controverting evidence.
