After the draft, the madness of NBA free agency is upon us. There were suggestions to have the draft after the free agency period instead of before, but that would assume the impact of the draft is significant, which in recent memory, is no longer the case.

Side note: When was the last time a No.1 draft pick got a team to the playoffs? There is an underlying context to that question, as not all teams with No.1 picks are necessarily the weakest.
