F2 Logistics and Cignal collide in Pool B action in the 2023 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Invitational Conference at the FilOil EcoOil Center on Saturday, July 1.Game time is 6:30 p.m. with the Cargo Movers-HD Spikers match serving as the main event of the day's triple-header, which would be the PVL's last offering before it enters a 10-day break to give way to the staging of Volleyball Nations League (VNL) slated from July 4 to 9.PLDT and Akari lock horns at 1:30 p.m. in pool A action while Foton and Choco Mucho clash at 4:30 p.m. in Pool B.F2 and Cignal got off to a winning start on Tuesday, June 27, as F2 staved off newcomer Farm Fresh 25-22, 25-20, 25-23 and Cignal came from behind to defeat Petro Gazz 18-25, 25-18, 25-21, 25-22 for a 1-0 start. With the mid-season tournament set for a quick finish, Cargo Movers head coach Regine Diego stressed the need for her team to shape up right away because only the top two teams in the pool will advance to the semifinals.'It's a quick tournament so there's a good chance that teams can overtake you immediately. You need to make the players feel that we cannot relax in any game and against any team,' Diego said.'We cannot take them lightly because one loss might take us from semifinal contention. Every game is important. We're going to give our best because things are really difficult with this short conference.'Diego said the Cargo Movers can't afford to commit many errors and give much free points against a veteran Cignal team that got a shot in the arm with the return of Jovelyn Gonzaga.'We committed so many errors today (22 against Farm Fresh). I know they're still adjusting and I understand that part, but we cannot do that in the next few games, especially against the next team (Cignal), it's one of the oldest teams here in the league so they're going to fight for sure and we can't relax,' added Diego, whose team drew significant contributions from Ivy Lacsina and Mars Alba.
