ALTHOUGH the effect of the southwest monsoon, locally known as "habagat," has weakened, it is still bringing rain to some parts of the country, particularly in the western section of Luzon, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said on Friday.
Pagasa's weather specialist Benison Estareja said they are monitoring cloud clusters inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), but they have less chance to turn into a low pressure area over the next 48 hours.
