LOANS extended by banks' foreign currency deposit units (FCDU) dipped in the first quarter of 2023 as principal repayments exceeded disbursements, the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) reported on Friday.

In a statement, the central bank said FCDU loans as of end-March stood at $15.5 billion, down by 2.1 percent from the $15.8 billion recorded at the end of December last year.
