Chicago picks Bedard 1st overall in draft

FORWARD Connor Bedard was selected first overall in the National Hockey League (NHL) Entry Draft of 2023 by the Chicago Blackhawks on Thursday (Friday in Manila).

Blackhawks general manager Kyle Davidson formally announced the selection of Bedard, who played for the Regina Pats of the Western Hockey League (WHL).
