FOREIGN portfolio investments contracted for a fourth straight month in May despite higher inflows and a drop in outflows, the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) reported on Thursday.

Foreign investments registered with the central bank through authorized agent banks (AABs), as the funds are now officially called, saw inflows of $845 million and outflows totaling $969 million for the month.
