DESPITE a drop in water levels in major dams, a hydrologist from the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said there was no cause for alarm since their "recovery period" is expected in the middle of July when the rains come.
Richard Orendain told The Manila Times in an interview on Thursday that the current records would indicate that the water levels in the dams, especially Angat, were still manageable. The dam is a major source of water for Metro Manila.
