Police rescue 2K victims of trafficking in raid on gaming firm

AROUND 2,000 alleged victims of human trafficking, nearly half of them foreigners, were rescued by a joint task force of the Philippine National Police (PNP) in a raid conducted early Tuesday morning on a suspected Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (Pogo) firm in Las Piñas City.

Police BGen. Sidney Hernia, PNP-Anti-Cybercrime Group (PNP-ACG) director, said of the 2,717 rescued individuals, 1525 were Filipinos and 1192 were foreigners. Of the rescued foreigners, 606 were Chinese, 183 Vietnamese and 137 Indonesians.
