EVERY year around the world, World Whistleblowers' Day is commemorated on June 23 to call attention to the critical role whistleblowers play in combating corruption and to raise awareness about whistleblowing as a deterrent to organizational misconduct.
At Deloitte Philippines, we lent our support to this special day by hosting an in-person forum about whistleblowing — the regulations, challenges and best practices related to this critical component of good corporate governance. I also took the opportunity to share the key results of our Conduct Watch survey — an Asia-Pacific-wide survey we opened to public and private sector leaders with oversight related to whistleblowing to gain insights on prevailing organizational attitudes and capabilities regarding this countermeasure.
