The five decade-old National Students Art Competition (NSAC) has always been open to reinvention to adhere to the change of times. From its first decade, new categories were introduced so that participants from emerging media can also showcase their talents.
Later on, Shell Pilipinas Corporation's annual student competition introduced Digital Fine Arts as an additional category to the already existing Oil/Acrylic, Sculpture, and Watercolor categories.
