Reenactors portray freedom fighters at Independence Day rites

HISTORICAL reenactors belonging to the Republica Filipina Reenactment Group (RFRG) and the Philippine Living History Society (PLHS) portrayed Filipino freedom fighters in the recent civic-military parade in celebration of the 125th anniversary of Philippine Independence held at the Quirino Grandstand in Rizal Park.

The RFRG reenacted the Katipunan sandatahan fighters, and the Ejercito Filipino (Philippine Army) led by Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo, which took part in the declaration of independence in Kawit, Cavite, on June 12, 1898.
