ACCORDING to a law passed unanimously by the United States Congress and signed by President Joe Biden in late March, the US government was required to declassify and release all the intelligence it had gathered concerning the origin of the SARS CoV-2 virus that causes Covid-19 within 90 days, a deadline that expired on Sunday (Monday in Manila). That deadline was missed, and while there are probably circumstances that explain the failure to comply with the law, it does not absolve it. More than three years have passed since the Covid-19 pandemic first appeared, and yet the world is still waiting for answers.
