Grab to lay off over 1,000 workers

SINGAPORE: Singapore-based tech giant Grab Holdings will lay off over 1,000 employees, its chief executive officer (CEO) said Tuesday, a move that will affect about 11 percent of its workforce.

Grab launched in 2012 as a taxi-booking app in Malaysia before becoming Southeast Asia's biggest ride-hailing firm and expanding into financial services like digital payments.
