Truckers group renews call to scrap container registry, monitoring system

THE Alliance of Concerned Truck Owners & Organizations (Actoo) has renewed its call to scrap the container registry and surveillance system (TOP-CRMS), saying majority of truckers are opposed to it because it is pointless and burdensome.

Actoo Chairman Ricky Papa said: 'We urge the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) to immediately scrap this burdensome and unnecessary system. It is time to focus on improving efficiency at the ports, not on adding to the cost of doing business.'
