DAVAO CITY: A 70-year-old woman was arrested for allegedly killing her house helper whose body was dumped at a roadside in Blk. 20 Lot 44, Deca Homes, Cabantian, Buhangin this city on Sunday, June 18. The suspect, Nenita Pagatpatan, was arrested by police operatives based on the footage from the CCTVs around the vicinity, where she was seen dragging a cart covered with a canvas cloth. It is believed to be carrying the victim's dead body. Police investigation showed that the victim, Sheila Lagsaway, 29 years old, a resident of Don Marcelino, Davao Occidental, was wrapped in a canvas and bathed in blood. The footage helped in the identification of the suspect, according to Davao City Police Office chief Col. Alberto Lupaz. Based on the result of the medico-legal, Lagsaway died due to injury to her head and a stab wound on the right side of her body. In a statement, the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) strongly condemned the incident and vowed to impose the full force of law on whoever is caught doing an illegal act or crime. The DCPO urged Davaoeños to observe the culture of security to maintain peace and order in the city.
