KEY interest rates will likely be kept unchanged later this week, Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Governor Felipe Medalla said on Monday, all but confirming market expectations of an extended tightening pause.

Declining inflation — the rate has gone down for four straight months and is expected to drop further — is a "good reason" to maintain current policy settings, Medalla told reporters.
