CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY: Cagayan de Oro City Mayor Rolando Uy on Thursday exhorted more than 4,000 city government workers and stakeholders to support his incumbency to attain sustainable progress and development.The city executive issued the statement in a speech highlighting his first State of the City address (SOCA) as Cagayan de Oro City marked its 73rd Charter Day Anniversary here Thursday.Uy delivered the SOCA to coincide with the inaugural opening of the city's 10,500 square-meter convention center in the hinterland village of Taguanao here.In his first SOCA, Uy reported the city's gradual recovery from the losses incurred during the Covid pandemic, which started in 2019.'During the Covid pandemic, we witnessed Cagayan de Oro City's tenacity as the center of commerce and the city's resiliency as the Covid referral center in Northern Mindanao,' Uy said.Elected as City Mayor in 2022, Uy immediately introduced the program of his administration known as the 'RISE Development Framework.'RISE stands for regional leadership, institutional development, safety, and human development, which focuses on the delivery of basic services, human development, and sustainable economic progress.He said that the RISE Development Framework aims to alleviate the family's per capita income and the introduction of technology for human development.Uy reported that as of March 2023, the city's business registration increased 44 percent with the revenue collection reaching P 3.3 billion during the first quarter from January 2023 to March 2023, a positive indication that the city could collect the P7-billion target collection by the end of 2023.
