THE Komisyon sa Wikang Filipino (KWF) or the Commission of the Filipino Language fell victim to a cyberattack after its social media page was taken over by still unidentified hackers.
"Ang opisyal na Facebook account ng Komisyon sa Wikang Filipino ay naging biktima ng cyber/network attack, partikular ang malware na sinususpetsang nakapasok sa sistema at may intensiyong dungisan ang pangalan ng KWF sa pamamagitan ng pagpaskil ng larawan na hindi nararapat na tagpuan sa page at hindi kaugnay sa opisyal na gawain ng aming tanggapan (The official KWF Facebook page has fallen victim to a cyberattack, particularly the malware that was suspected to have entered the system, with the intent of staining the name of the KWF, by means of posting photos that have no place on our page and not involving the works of our agency)," KWF Director-General Marites Taran said in a statement.
