PART of the national government's long-term plan for the evacuees currently affected by the eruption of Mayon Volcano is to permanently relocate those living inside or near the permanent danger zone, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said on Friday.

"One way for them to be safe is to permanently stay away from the volcano," NDRRMC Deputy Spokesman Diego Mariano said in a public briefing.
