Financial sector resources increase to P28.52T in April

THE local financial system's total resources rose by 8.5 percent to P28.51 trillion as of end-April from P26.32 trillion a year ago, preliminary data from the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) showed.

Bank resources as a whole expanded by 9.8 percent to P23.48 trillion from P21.38 trillion, with universal/commercial banks (U/KBs) accounting for the bulk or P22.07 trillion — 10.1 percent higher than the year-earlier P20.05 trillion.
