Acceptance of fisheries subsidies pact pushed

THE World Trade Organization (WTO) urged governments to accept the Agreement on Fisheries Subsidies.

Speaking at the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization headquarters in Rome on Tuesday, WTO Deputy Director General Angela Ellard said accepting the agreement meant putting into action efforts to address ocean sustainability, most especially by coastal countries that rely on the fishing industry.
