SUBIC BAY FREEPORT: The Bureau of Customs-Port of Subic (BoC-PoS) and the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) agreed to enhance initiatives and collaboration between the two agencies to encourage business growth.
In a meeting held on Thursday, June 8, BoC-PoS district collector Carmelita Talusan and SBMA Chairman and Administrator Jonathan Tan expressed their commitments to promote a conducive business environment at the Subic Bay Freeport.
The two officials agreed that by enhancing trade facilitation and ensuring efficient customs processes within the Port of Subic, locators and investors would be motivated to expand their operation or share their good experience with other possible investors.
They also discussed how to address aspects of customs operations and border protection, establishing a seamless and transparent system that encourages business growth, attracts investments, and contributes to economic development in the region, while also following and implementing the directives of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
Both agencies expressed appreciation for the positive outcome of the meeting and committed to further enhance their coordination and explore innovative solutions.
Together, the BoC-PoS and the SBMA aim to facilitate trade, promote investment, and establish Subic as a premier business and logistics port in the region.
Talusan and the Port of Subic team will also continue to collaborate with other government agencies and stakeholders aligned with the reform initiatives of the government.
