Peso closes higher but PSEi drops anew

THE peso regained some ground, but the stock market fell anew at the close of the trading week and ahead of a holiday on Monday.

The currency strengthened by 6 centavos to P56.05 against the dollar on Friday, while the benchmark Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) dropped by 32.21 points, or 0.49 percent, to end the day at 6,507.15.
