Mayon restive, evacuation set

LEGAZPI CITY, Albay: The provincial government of Albay will evacuate residents living inside the six-kilometer permanent danger zone (PDZ) after the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) raised the alert status of the restive Mayon volcano from Level 2 to Level 3 on Thursday, June 8, 2023, Cedric Daep, chief of the Albay Public Safety Emergency Management Office (Apsemo), said.

Camalig town Mayor Carlos Baldo suspended classes in Tumpa, Quirangay and Cabangan elementary schools on Thursday.
