Moises Cruz Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rex Gatchalian on Friday assured officials in Albay province that its regional office in Bicol has been "aggressively managing the situation" in anticipation of the possible eruption of Mayon Volcano.
Gatchalian personally called Albay Gov. Edcel Greco Lagman, as well as the province's congressmen, to reassure them that supplies for relief efforts have long been on hand and that the Department's Field Office 5 has been busy holding emergency meetings as part of the preparations for the worst.
