SEVERE Tropical Storm "Chedeng" (international name: Guchol) has intensified into a typhoon but it remains far from the Philippine landmass and has a "very slim" chance of affecting the country.
The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), in its 5 p.m. advisory, said Chedeng was 935 kilometers east of Central Luzon.
