TUGUEGARAO CITY: Twenty-two jobseekers registered were hired on-the-spot in the recent job exposition initiated by the Commission on Higher Education Regional Office 2 (CHEd-RO2) in coordination with the Department of Labor and Employment Regional Office 2 (DoLE-RO2) and SM City Tuguegarao. Lawyer Marco Cicero Domingo, CHEd-RO2 OIC and regional director, lauded the job seekers and those who were hired for seizing the opportunity to land jobs. Domingo said that 911 job opportunities were offered during the job exposition and was successfully done as a part of the celebration of the 3rd National Higher Education Day and CHEd's 29th Founding Anniversary which centered around the theme 'Claiming VIctory with Higher Quality Education: Dekalidad na Edukasyon, Karapatan ng Mamamayan.' OIC-Regional Director Jesus Elpidio Atal Jr. emphasized the role of the job exposition in enhancing the engagement of job seekers and employers and the creation of work for income. SM City Tuguegarao mall manager Kristine Iris Ceballos said that the job expo mirrors the shared commitment of CHEd, DoLE, and SM to provide employment opportunities to the people in the community. Ceballos said the pandemic dampened economic opportunities but job fairs provide a glimmer of hope for jobseekers to help them find employment.
