CLEAR-CUT government guidelines on the use of environment-friendly sources of energy to reduce the carbon footprint of the maritime industry are needed to facilitate the transition clean energy, a report released by the International Chamber of Shipping (ICS) said. The report titled "The ICS Maritime Barometer Report 2022-2023"

said the political instability within governments relative to the use of clean, renewable energy was putting in jeopardy a successful green energy transition in the maritime industry.
