Marcos signs order for an 'integrated system' in public transactions

PRESIDENT Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. has issued an executive order enjoining all government offices and local government units to adopt and implement an integrated financial management information system (IFMIS) in their transactions with the general public, Malacañang said on Friday.

Signed on June 1, 2023, EO 29 -- 'Strengthening the Integration of Public Financial Management Information Systems, Streamlining Processes Thereof, and Amending Executive Order 55 (S. 2011) for the Purpose' -- is in line with the Marcos administration's commitment to improve bureaucratic efficiency by capitalizing on digitization efforts to ensure fast and efficient delivery of services to the public, according to the Presidential Communications Office (PCO).
