In Game Seven of the NBA Eastern Conference Finals, I cheered hard for the Miami Heat. The most obvious reason is that I'm a Lakers fan, and I don't want the Boston Celtics going further than the Lake Show did.
There's also Erik Spoelstra. When the Heat were up 3-0, the Filipino-American coach finally got the recognition he deserves. After years of quietly building up "Heat Culture" where the team remained competitive even after losing the Big Three of LeBron James, Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade, without egregious tanking, Coach Spo is finally being appreciated outside of Miami.
