Producer price index growth slows in April

THE producer price index (PPI) for manufacturing grew by 2.3 percent in April, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) reported on Tuesday, easing from March's 2.5 percent and markedly slowing from 6.3 percent a year earlier.

'The deceleration of PPI in April 2023 was primarily brought about by the slowdown in the annual increase in the manufacture of food products industry division at 4.4 percent in April 2023 from 5.5 percent annual increase in March 2023,' the PSA said.
