Universal Robina buys Cadpi assets

UNIVERSAL Robina Corp. (URC) on Tuesday said it was acquiring the idle sugar milling machinery and equipment of Central Azucarera Don Pedro Inc. (Cadpi) from Roxas Holdings Inc.

The purchase price was not disclosed, but the firm said that it wanted to ensure ample sugar supplies for consumers and also provide a source of livelihood for farmers.
