INTERIOR Secretary Benjamin "Benhur" Abalos Jr. on Tuesday directed the Bureau of Fire Protection to investigate the alleged lapses in protocol committed by the fire marshal of Quezon City during a fire incident that resulted in the death of a retired police general on May 17.
"We care deeply for the mental well-being and privacy of all survivors. Rest assured that we will investigate this matter thoroughly, and we will impose the proper sanctions where warranted," Abalos said in a statement.
