Recent days saw an early redefinition of national politics with the demotion of 76-year-old Senior Deputy Speaker Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, the erstwhile "secret weapon" of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. She was demoted by the current speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez, the President's first cousin. Arroyo was replaced by fellow Kapampangan, Third District Rep. Aurelio Gonzales Jr. from PDP.
