(UPDATE) ONE of the detained suspects in the brazen killing of Negros Oriental Gov. Roel Degamo and 10 others on Monday formally recanted his statement given to police investigators.
Osmundo Rivero, represented by counsel Harold Montalbo, filed before the Department of Justice (DoJ) a counter-affidavit and an affidavit of recantation, claiming that he was coerced by police investigators in linking Negros Oriental Rep. Arnolfo Teves Jr. to the crime.
