The typhoon spotted east of Mindanao will likely turn into a super typhoon before entering the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said on Monday.

Weather specialist Obet Badrina said that typhoon Mawar (international name) was located 2,330 kilometers east of Mindanao and moving west-northwest at 15 kilometers per hour (kph).
