BI beefs up drive vs human trafficking

THE Bureau of Immigration (BI) has taken another giant step to strengthen its capability in combating human trafficking and other forms of illegal migration activities while ensuring a speedy, effective and efficient public service.

Immigration Commissioner Norman Tansingco on Monday signed a memorandum of agreement (MoA) with the Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO) secretary, Romulo Arugay, on Shared Government Information. The system will interconnect their database to provide efficient and faster service to departing and arriving Filipino workers while making it doubly hard for illegal and undocumented workers or victims of human trafficking to pass through immigration.
