Lakas-CMD respects Duterte decision to resign, backs call to unite behind Marcos

THE Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas-CMD) said on Friday that it 'respected' the decision of Vice President Sara Duterte to leave the party but at the same time supported her call to its members to continue supporting President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and to 'work together' for the success of his administration 'for the benefit of the people.'

The statement was issued through Secretary General Jose 'Joboy' Aquino 2nd, shortly after Duterte announced her 'irrevocable resignation' from the party.
