SEN. Ana Theresia "Risa" Hontiveros filed Senate Bill (SB) 2205 to amend Republic Act 10845 or the "Agricultural Smuggling Act," saying it will make the prosecution of government officials involved in the crime easier.
"It is time to hold to account government officials who allow smuggling to persist unfettered," Hontiveros said, noting agricultural smuggling is costing the government billions of pesos yearly in lost revenues.
