The peso and stock market both regained some ground on Tuesday following indications that monetary authorities would hold off from raising interest rates anew on Thursday.
The currency strengthened by 4 centavos to close at P56.03 against the dollar while the benchmark Philippine Stock Exchange Composite Index (PSEi) gained 65.75 points or 1.01 percent to end the day at 6,588.90.
