SEN. Maria Imelda Josefa "Imee" Marcos urged the Department of Agriculture (DA) to review its recent memorandum order that limits the type of fertilizers rice farmers can use.
The senator said farmers should decide what type of biofertilizers to use.Marcos cited DA Memorandum Order (MO) 32 which was signed on April 27, 2023 that implements guidelines on the distribution and use of biofertilizers. It aimed to improve the productivity of rice farmers in spite of the high prices of fertilizers by distributing biofertilizers.
