The International Maritime Organization (IMO) expects the Philippine manning industry to perform better after the European Maritime Safety Agency agreed to continue recognizing the certificates issued to Filipino seafarers.
IMO Secretary General Kitack Lim, who is in the country for the Regional Conference on Decarbonization entitled "Seizing Opportunities for Green Shipping in Asia and the Pacific" recognized the efforts of the Philippines to improve its maritime sector.
