THE country's dominant telecom players urged internet users to protect themselves against malwares that have been embedded in legitimate websites.

PLDT and Smart's Cyber Security Operations Group (CSOG) said that even without the user's knowledge, these malicious codes could initiate the download of harmful files in a "drive-by download" attack.
