THE Quezon City Regional Trial Court (RTC) denied 49 motions to dismiss a P196-million damage suit filed against the government and a pharmaceutical firm by parents whose children allegedly died after getting inoculated with the anti-dengue vaccine Dengvaxia.
In his ruling, Judge Manuel Cruz Jr. of Quezon City RTC Branch 226 said the defendants led by former Health secretary and now Iloilo First District Rep. Janette Garin and vaccine manufacturer, Sanofi Pasteur Inc., had repeatedly argued that the complaint filed against them failed to state a cause of action, hence, it should be dismissed.
